Review of Juicy Chemistry Skincare

This is my first ever sponsored post, and I’m happy to say it’s for a brand that I admire: Juicy Chemistry. Founded in 2014, Juicy Chemistry was borne out of a desire to provide “simplified skincare” to the masses. Now offering over 100+ products to domestic and international clients, the brand’s commitment to product efficacy is as laudable as its commitment to sustainability.

Raw materials are ethically sound from small farms and suppliers, and these ingredients cause no harm to waterways and marine life. Juicy Chemistry’s products are cruelty-free and most of the range is vegan. Packaging is minimal (and adorable) and use recycled and recyclable materials.

Juicy Chemistry products are also Ecocert (France) certified in accordance with COSMOS V3 Standard. In their own words:

While certification is not compulsory, we have taken it up voluntarily to ensure the customers that our products are true to their claims. Right from the production facility to actual formulation to the final packaging and labels, we fulfill all the requirements of the standard and undergo a rigorous bi-annual audit every year.

Juicy Chemistry is also GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ISO 9001:2015 certified. Now onto the product details!

I was sent 3 products to try and review: the 100% Organic Bulgarian Rose Water Mist, he 100% Organic Aloe Vera Face Mask-Hydrating Mask, and the 100% Organic Kakadu Plum & Pomegranate Facial Oil.

100% Organic Bulgarian Rose Water Mist

Performance: Love. Not other words necessary. I always have a rose water mist in my skin care routine, and this is a wonderful option. Sometimes, simplicity is the answer!

Scent Profile: Roses! The scent is natural and soothing and not at all cloying or manufactured.

Packaging: I have to admit: Juicy Chemistry’s packaging is just adorable! Every product comes in cardboard packaging with the most darling illustrations. The spray nozzle on this bottle performs exceptionally well, too.

Ingredients: Rose Damascena (Rose) Distillate*, Rosa Alba (White Rosa) Hydrosol*

Price: $9.18 USD

Disposal: Recyclable cardboard packaging and glass bottle

100% Organic Aloe Vera Face Mask-Hydrating Mask

Performance: While I was excited about a single ingredient, moisturizing mask (my skin has been craving hydration as the weather gets colder), this was my least favorite product. Its performance was great—soothing and gentle—but I just couldn’t get used to the texture of the mask. No matter what I did, it was a bit slimy and difficult to apply. With that said, it was extremely moisturizing, so I’ll keep experimenting.

Scent Profile: Aloe Vera (a bit salty?)

Packaging: As mentioned above, Juicy Chemistry’s outer packaging is nothing less than charming. This mask comes in a sealed glass jar with plastic lid.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Extract Powder*

Price: $8.47 USD

Disposal: Recyclable cardboard packaging and glass jar with plastic lid

100% Organic Kakadu Plum & Pomegranate Facial Oil

Performance: This oil is light, quick to absorb, and very gentle. A couple of drops will do! There are some photosensitive oils in this formulation (although they may be used at a percentage where phototoxicity isn’t an issue), so I only use it at night.

Scent Profile: This aroma is like a fruity dream! If you like the smell of pomegranate, you’ll love this product.

Packaging: I really appreciate the protective amber glass bottle on this product. As with their other products, everything is packaged securely to ensure no breakage.

Ingredients: Hemp Seed Oil*, Camellia Seed Oil*, Kakadu plum Oil *, Raspberry Seed Oil*, Prickly pear Seed Oil*, Pomegranate Seed Oil*, Sunflower Seed Oil*, Rosemary Antioxidant*, Grapefruit Oil*, Ylang Ylang Oil*, Lavender Oil*, Blood Orange Oil*, Neroli Oil*, Bergamot Oil*

Price: $12.35 USD

Disposal: Recyclable cardboard packaging and glass bottle

Overall, I’m thrilled with Juicy Chemistry and can’t wait to try more products from the brand. The price, for those of us in the US, are out of this world. Shipping, understandably, take a little bit longer, but it’s worth the wait. I would definitely purchase Juicy Chemistry products in the future. I have my eye on the 100% Organic Helichrysum & Rosehip Anti Scar & Pigmentation Facial Oil and the Hibiscus, Guava, and Bhringaraj Organic Hair Oil!
