First Impression: Fig + Yarrow Foaming Cream Cleanser and Facial Serum

I popped into Target this weekend in hopes of finding a new cleanser and serum and stopped in my tracks when I saw these beauties: The Fig + Yarrow foaming cream cleanser and facial serum.  I’m so, SO happy to see more green brands at Target. I’ve loved the Fig + Yarrow coffee cardamom body scrub for ages but had yet to try any of their skincare. First impression?! Pretty awesome.

Fig + Yarrow is a small-batch, artisanal brand which offers products ranging from body oils to clay masks to complexion waters to herbal steams. They source their ingredients responsibly and use only the cleanest, greenest ingredients.

The charcoal cleanser delivers a deep, but gentle, cleanse for those extra icky days. I have sensitive, combination skin, and this cleanser neither strips my skin nor does it cause breakouts. It also smells AMAZING; the palmarosa fragrance is nothing less than intoxicating!

As with many green cleansers, it doesn’t produce much foam, but I’m ok with that. Its consistency is neither watery nor viscous. I use 1/2 pump of cleanser in the morning and one full pump at night to remove makeup.

Check out these squeaky clean ingredients:

Organic aloe leaf juice, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Organic Olive Fruit Oil, Water, Lactobacillus Ferment, MSM (Dimethyl Sulfone), Organic Jojoba Seed Oil, DMAE Bitartate, Organic Green Tea Leaf, Organic Goji Berry, Organic Calendula Flower, organic Licorice Root, Organic White Willow Bark, Hyaluronic Acid, Tamanu Oil, Glycerin, Activated Charcoal, Vitamin C Ester, Provitamin B5 (Panthenol), Vitamin E, Palmarosa Oil, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate

I follow up the cleanser with either witch hazel toner or an apple cider vinegar toner – depending on my level of face demons popping up on my face – and gently pat this rosehip and argan oil serum into my skin; it’s very light and deeply moisturizing. Its fragrance is  herbal – a teense odd, to be honest. It does dissipate fast, however! I think a more appropriate moniker would be “facial oil,” however, “serum” works for all intents and purposes.

6 nourishing ingredients! That’s it! Check ’em out:

Organic jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis ), rosehip seed oil (rosa canina), argan kernel oil (argania spinosa), squalane, organic rosemary leaf extract (rosmarinus officinalis), vitamin e (tocopherol)

Overall, I really enjoy both of these products. The cleanser retails for $19.99 and the serum costs $22.99. If you’re new to green beauty, or just want to switch up your daily routine, I’d recommend these products! Remember, you’re worth it, so:
