Combine a graduate student budget with a consummate tomboy and what do you get? A minimal makeup routine!
My journey into green, minimal beauty started several years prior to my journey into a minimalist lifestyle, and it’s safe to say that I’ve tried an obscene amount of green beauty products. Thankfully, I’ve been able to cull my makeup goodies to a curated set of healthy products that perform beautifully. My most recent coup de foudre has been with the brand W3ll People (pronounced well people). Offering clean products with high payoff, W3ll People is a fantastic starting point if you’re curious about green beauty. All of the products I own work well on my sensitive, combination skin. I also love that the brand caters to and looks beautiful on a wide spectrum of skin complexions.
Here’s what I currently have in my makeup bag:

- W3ll People Bio Brightener Stick – a shimmery, luminous highlighter which is perfect for those who, like me, have sensitivity to coconut oil
- W3ll People Bio Bronzer Stick – a subtle contour for complexions similar to mine or darker, great for everyday wear
- W3ll People Hypnotist Eyeliner – A soft, creamy black eyeliner that goes on easily. It does tend to bleed after a few hours for those of us with oily eyelids
- W3ll People Purist 61 Mineral Blush, Luminous Rose – A surprisingly lovely color for darker skin tones. It’s bright but blends out beautifully; it’s also a bit shimmery and has a tendency to oxidize (as in arm swatch picture), so I tend to reserve it for evening
- W3ll People Bio Extreme Lip Gloss, Nude Rose – A surprisingly subtle lipgloss (read: not obnoxiously glossy!) with a pleasant mint flavor
My current favorite site to buy clean, green beauty is Carbon Beauty. With a bountiful selection of products, fast delivery, and great customer service, they are a small business that deserves to be checked out!
FTC: All products were either purchased by me or given as samples by Carbon Beauty. All opinions are my own, and I’m in no way affiliated with Carbon Beauty or W3ll People.

October 19, 2016 at 1:55 amOh yay! I’m so glad it helped. When I first started transitioning to natural products, that whole eco world was a bit overwhelming. Fun…but overwhelming! SO many goodies. I’m happy to say that I’m still really happy with the W3ll People products I wrote about in this post. 🙂
