Review: Province Apothecary Lover’s Oil

I’ve seen Province Apothecary in stores for several years now but just haven’t reached to purchase any of their products. I recently had the opportunity to try their lover’s oil via an Instagram giveaway, and I must say, it’s a great introduction into the brand!

After struggling for years with allergies and eczema, Province Apothecary’s found Julie Clark decided to craft her own natural personal care products. This sustainable, small-batch skincare line is vegan, cruelty-free, and green business certified.

According to their website, “Julie cares about our planet and the farmers that plant and harvest PA’s ingredients so she sources from small farms and companies across Canada, that hold the same ethical standards as PA, all of our ingredients are ethically and sustainably sourced and fair-trade and she donates a percentage of yearly sales to the ‘Canadian Organic Growers’, ‘Canadian Honey Council’ and ‘1% for the Planet’.” How amazing is that? Now on to the review!

Performance:  This body oil is light: in scent and in moisture. It doesn’t leave a greasy film and sinks into the skin beautifully. While it is great for massage, I prefer to put some in the tub when I luxuriate in a bath. I use a generous amount because 1. it smells amazing and 2. as with most green beauty products, it has a short shelf life (6 months after opening).

Scent Profile: With rich, elegant notes of rose and cedar wood, this extremely moisturizing oil is a great way to level up your bath and treat yo self!

Packaging: Plastic bottle with plastic cap.

Ingredients: Fractionated Coconut Oil*, Sunflower Seed Oil*, Cedarwood Oil*, Jojoba Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil*, Vitamin E, Bergamot Fcf Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil*, Clary Sage Oil*, Rose Geranium Flower Oil, Jasmine Oil, Cardamon Oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract*, Rose Absolute Oil, Vetiver Oil.

Disposal: Recyclable plastic bottle. This would feel so much more luxurious on glass packaging!

Overall, I like this oil, and for the price point, it’s a great option if you want to try this brand. How about you? Have you tried Province Apothecary? Are there products in the line that you would recommend?
